CBS 46 News in Atlanta reported early Friday that Atlanta Braves outfielder and designated hitter Marcell Ozuna had been arrested on suspicion of DUI and failure to maintain lane. The report says that Ozuna was arrested on Friday at 4:39 a.m. and sent to the Gwinnett County prison. In the early hours of Friday, ESPN reported that Ozuna had been released on a $1,830 bond. On Friday, the Braves issued a statement expressing their "disappointment" over Ozuna's detention. "The Atlanta Braves are currently gathering information about Marcell Ozuna's arrest this morning. Our organisation takes these problems very seriously and are obviously disappointed by the situation. For the time being, we will refrain from further comment since this is an ongoing legal situatio
Ozuna is in the second year of a four-year, $65 million contract with the Braves, who originally signed him before the 2020 season. The Braves, who went on to win the World Series despite his arrest and other ailments, acquired three outfielders by the July trade deadline. Ozuna has been the primary DH for the team this year, and his.214 average and 20 home runs are both team highs.
